Maribago is my Quasi-Paradiso

The first time I’ve been to Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort, I was more or less 11 years old. I still have pictures of the place (and me) stacked here in the photo album but I’d rather not share… too embarrassing. The second time I was there I was already 19 years old  and that was last summer where Maribago Bluewater invited us bloggers to explore the place. The third time was weeks ago when they opened their art gallery and we were invited to witness its grand opening. And the fourth time is what I’ll be sharing about now.

Sir Ruben Licera from Maribago/CBS told us that every Sunday starting October 25 until four weeks, 5 bloggers are given free day-tour passes to the resort. I signed up for the first Sunday, October 25. I then knew that the slots for October 25 were increased to 10 (and November 1 would be cancelled). Lucky or not?

My first goal for that resort trip was to rest. I’ve had excreted much energy last semester and I thought I might recharge at the beach. Well, all these inkling thoughts, erased.

Mikyu, Kai, Iggy, Atty. Ouano, Beejing, Agnes, Mark, Zyra, Blair and I were the first bloggers to enjoy Maribago’s treat.

We went to the resort around 9am as instructed by Sir Ruben. We then passed by the front desk, we were allowed in and went directly to the beach front. At this point, we were clueless with what to do. Kill time, I suppose. We picked those beach chairs under the huts but were told by officers that we are not allowed to do so unless we are checked-in. Ah, day-tour guests are only allowed those beach chairs unaccompanied by huts, lol. Remember that. Continue reading

Philippine Blog Awards 2009, a Success!

Woot, suddenly it felt like iBlog5 all over again. Well that’s what I felt during the Philippine Blog Awards 2009  – Visayas last October 18, 2009 at the Ayala City Sports, Cebu Business Park in Cebu City.

Though there were not too many bloggers who attended, the night was still full of fun and surprises. My Cebu Bloggers Society family was there. I had fun talking and cam whoring with Mica and Ada. It’s nice seeing Winston and Vanjohnn after a long time too. The last four I’ve mentioned are the factors that made PBA 09 feel like iBlog5.

I’d like to congratulate Sinjin for winning the Chikka’s Readers’ Choice Award. A very BIG congratulations to Cebu Bloggers Society for winning the Visayas’ Bloggers’ Choice Award! Kudos also to Globe’s Ten Digital Tribe winners, mostly from CBS. Dahong Laya also wins the Best Visayan Blog. For a list of winners announced during the event, click here. Continue reading

From BryanKarl.net to ExtraordinaryKiddo.com

Yeah yeah welcome back Extraordinary Kiddo! My blog is alive again. It went down (got suspended accdg. to the host, duh) last Thursday, October 22, 2009. It came down along the blogs of Atty. Ouano of laagcebu.com and Pibi of sopibreal.com (now on a new host). It was a sad event actually and it overwhelms me that my classmates know about it and they are asking if I’m sad, hahaha. Honestly I was sad for a short while. Who wouldn’t be? My blog’s my extension. But after a day, I decided to move on and forget about it. Que sera sera. But good enough I have a backup of my database and files, even though outdated, but at least there is. I then decided to buy a new blog host; this time it is local. Sweet it is to just contact the server managers/owners through instant messaging and even SMS. I now have my blog hosted over at iRock Web Hosting. And I bought a new host! Welcoming EXTRAORDINARYKIDDO.COM

Why this and why not the same old domain? Simple: I don’t hold my bryankarl.net domain and I simply cannot contact my old host to transfer the domain to my account. Damn. ExtraordinaryKiddo.com’s cool though. Continue reading
