The Asus Ultimate 2009 Overclocking Show

ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated or ASUS (as we commonly call the company) will be in SM City Cebu starting today, May 14, up to May 27, 2009 to hold an event called Ultimate PC Fair 09 in the Atrium near Kameraworld. On May 23, 2009, Saturday, there will be an Overclocking Show which is actually a contest to be held at around 3PM in the Entertainment Plaza near the Food Court.

Calling all the geeks and geekazoids alike to come, watch and enjoy the show. Those with techy skills may join the contest and who knows, an Asus laptop may be given. So if you know what overclocking is and how to do it on the computer system (hence, geekazoids are much appreciated to attend), come on the mentioned date and time above and release your computer powers.

I, however, would just watch it. We were never taught overclocking in our school. Overclocking is (according to Wikipedia)

the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by personal computer enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers. Source

I have read about doing overclocking but I guess I have less time to learn it. The overclocking competition would be next week. I’d just give way to others who need the Asus laptop. :P

By the way, the Cebu Bloggers Society is invited to cover the event. We are more than willing to do so. After the event, the Asus team will meet everyone over at Bigby’s for dinner and for a small talk (questions, comments, and more questions).

Again, if you can drop by SM City Cebu on the said date and time, we would be more than happy to see you.
