Bolt Movie Review And Useful Insights

Bolt, a 2008 movie from Walt Disney Animation Studios is a computer-animated comedy film by Chris Williams and Byron Howard. Bolt stars the voices of John Travolta as Bolt, Miley Cyrus as Penny, Susie Essman as Mittens (the cat), and Mark Walton as Rhino (the hamster). With a splendid animation and a feel-good storyline, Bolt is a must watch for kids and adults alike.

Bolt is a Hollywood star but he does not know that he is one  . Penny, Bolt’s person (human master) stars in a fantasy/sci-fi TV show that shows superpowers, blasts and cool fighting jets. Bolt is the TV show’s hero and he’s the one who got the cool superpowers like Zoom Zoom, Super Bark and many more. But for all of these acting to be real, the production team made sure that Bolt really believes that he has superpowers and that the villains are actually real. Bolt believes so. Not until one day, after a quick upturn of events, Bolt was gone, out of Hollywood, lost in the real world. Bolt’s quest is to rescue Penny from the villains. But he is now in the real world and the real world is just that, real. He met Mittens, the cat who looked exactly like the cat of the villain in the TV show. Bolt made Mittens a captive. But their long journey turned them into something that the dog-cat world wouldn’t expect. Along the way, they met Rhino, a fan of Bolt from the TV. Their trio is one good team. Their new quest is to search for Hollywood where Penny can be found. After a long and winding journey with rough events in between, the three ended up in Hollywood where a tragic event reunites Penny and Bolt and with Mittens and Rhino a new addition to the family. And just like any other Disney movie, Bolt and the rest lived happily ever after. :halo:

You wonder, why am I making a review about Bolt 6 months after it has premiered on screen? Because movies don’t die, they just fade. And for it to come back, there must be some sort of mentioning in the many corners of the world. I also do posts about movies months after it has been released because I am a late person when it comes to some movies. My busy life prevents me from catching up on the latest (except TV series). I also love dogs so much that I definitely should watch this movie as I have watched Marley & Me.

I recommend Bolt to everyone especially to childish people like me. And to dog-lovers too. I know this is animation but what’s depicted of the dog character (especially about loyalty) is true. Now here is one lesson that one should pick up from the move:

The truth hurts but the truth is what’s real and what’s real is what makes us who we are.

Get it? Sometimes we live in a world of deception, just like how Bolt lived his life before he saw the real world. Sometimes it is us who deceive our very own selves, cloaking from reality, trying not to get hurt by the ultimate truth. But no matter how hard we try to stay away from reality, reality itself will find a way to bite us. If we live our lives in pure fantasy, in a deceitful imagination, then we may lose our own self along the way. Learn from Bolt. Accepting the truth may be like gulping a morbid air, but moving on with it may be euphoria. Let the truth work its own wonders.

But who says it is only Bolt who has some lesson to share? Rhino shares this line:

You never abandon a friend in a time of need.

And that is self-explanatory.

Have you seen Bolt? You may be missing one good movie! Watch the trailer below so it would somehow pump you up before you see the full one:

For torrent users, here is the torrent download for Bolt.

Bolt is a good film. Being an animated movie does not stop it from relaying useful lessons to its audience. If you haven’t seen the film, then it is time for you to watch it now. Go Bolt!
