For the first time in my life as a WordPress user, I will be attending WordCamp Philippines 2010 in Manila on October 2, 2010. Mica booked me my tickets during the Cebu Pacific sale long ago and instantly I’ll be back in Manila for my second time.
SM City Cebu’s IMAX will open next week, July 9, to the public. The most talked movie from the last months, Avatar (in 3D), will be the first to be shown in IMAX. IMAX is coined as the ultimate movie experience because of its large screen, crisp display and improved sound. IMAX in the Philippines was first introduced in the SM Mall of Asia. SM City Cebu’s IMAX is the first outside of Metro Manila and would have a smaller screen, 14 meters, compared to MOA’s 22-meter high screen. SM City Cebu’s IMAX theater is a 400-seater by the way, to cater to the population of Visayas & Mindanao.
Last May 16, 2010, Spotlight Dance Company had their first dance recital at the City Sports Club Cebu with the theme FYE: For Your Entertainment. Spotlight Dance Company is a new dance school in Cebu owned and headed by the Creative Director, Ms. Ellen Marie Tan.
Spotlight Dance Company is the first to offer syllabus-based dance lessons here in Cebu. For a sneak preview of how it is like to be a student of Spotlight Dance Company, watch this short video footage of their dance recital (FYE). An interview with Ms. Tan is also included. (Interview done by X, video by me)
Personal note: I remember the time when my friends and I joined the Sayawan competition in our school’s biggest event called Cookout. Dancing is really cool, and I guess I can dance. I think that Spotlight Dance Co. is a good place to hone your dancing skills with Ms. Tan as an expert in the dance field. I just hope to see more students the next time they do a recital.
