The telecommunications and broadcasting industry of Asia experienced quite a boom recently. Here in the Philippines, new technologies are slowly embraced by numerous sectors and companies. We have seen how mobile development and outsourcing became an important player in the economy. New technologies such as cloud computing, 4G and FTTx, and adopt buzz-strategies like social media networking are slowly being incorporated into the mainstream development of all aspects of society. A recent study by Interactive Data Corp predicts the ICT landscape in the Philippines this year will be driven by recovery of its ICT spending – an estimated US$3.14 and $3.81 billion in total IT and telecommunication market spending respectively by end of 2010. This shows that our ICT, BPO and broadcasting state are all improving. Those from within such industries can surely affirm.
In line to this good news, two important and big events will be happening in parallel this coming June in Asia. The first one is CommunicAsia2010 / EnterpriseIT2010, the most established infocomm technology (ICT) event in Asia. This event will be participated by prestigious IT and IT-related companies/SMEs from 55 various countries/regions. Together with CommunicAsia2010 will be BroadcastAsia2010.
