Soothing, Inspiring Solo Piano From Jim Chappell
Jan 3rd
Jim Chappell is one of contemporary music’s most engaging composers and performers. He is a brilliant pianist, has 15 albums to his credit, has toured to lots of places and has guested in several US TV shows. His latest album release was last October 2009 and entitled Rise.
I have this love in listening to piano music. Probably out of frustration since I wanted to learn how to play the piano but never had the chance to. I believe that piano music is therapy to stress. That’s why I decided to purchase Jim Chappell’s latest album, Rise. Rise has 14 tracks in it.
Passionata: A Cultural Heritage Celebration
Dec 3rd
[30 November 2009] After the Asia-in-a-basket Cebu food bloggers event in SM Foodcourt is the concert Passionata: A Cultural Heritage Celebration. Vanjohnn gave me and other 8 bloggers complimentary tickets to the said concert. Passionata is a concert to showcase Cebu’s finest group singers, Cebu’s highly-acclaimed songs, the Philippines’ cultural legacy in the field of music and also the whole world’s greatest musical contributions.
Three groups participated in the concert. The first one is a personal favorite, the Asian Troubadours. The other two being the Cebu Chamber Singers and the Mandaue Children’s Choir.
I first came to know Asian Troubadours when a bunch of their sampler CDs were distributed during the DigitalFilipino event in Waterfront. I grabbed one! And when I listened to the CD, I simply could say that it was ecstatic. Their music is amazing, not the amazing kind that will knock you off your feet but something that will peace you down, make you proud, and say that we have brilliant talents here in our very own place. During the 440th Anniversary of Cebu, their song Cebu 440 Overture is the theme song. (Read my Asian Troubadours post)
Here’s my favorite, the Cebu 440 Overture by the Asian Troubadours.

MTV Emerge Brings Us Philippines’ Newest Music Talents
Nov 13th
Philippines’ music industry is starting to boom rise. Every now and then we discover a lot of new musical talents; some go as far as the international music scene. And yes, we want more. As we slowly emerge into the outskirts of our own country’s tune, we also feel the great need to start supporting more and more great talents that could only not let us say “wow” but also could make us proud of them and our being Filipino.
With all this, we thank the existence of MTV Emerge. MTV Emerge is a platform for unsigned music talent in the Philippines to showcase their work and to be given an opportunity to win a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music (to be discussed further below). MTV Emerge is an MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration. They are together in scouting for the hottest unsigned music talents from all genres of music, may it be rock, pop, indie, hip-hop, R&B, metal, ballad, solo artists, DJs and a lot more. It is also considered as an online community where each one of us can discover fresh local music artists.
Participants can register and upload their profiles, photos and original music on the MTV Emerge website to get discovered. And there are beautiful prizes at stake. After a public voting process, seven grand winners will be selected. And that would be on November 20, 2009. Selection of winners will be made by a panel of judges which includes our very own Apl.de.Ap, who is the founder of Jeepney music and famous for his group, the Black Eyed Peas. [This post is about It's Gonna Make Sense by Michael Learns to Rock] Wow, long time that I haven’t shared any song here in my blog. Usually, I only share those songs that make big impact to me and here’s one of em.
I watch PBB (almost everyday) because I think it’s one thing that’s keeping me sane. And there’s this song that they always play, cool song, but I don’t know the title not even the singer. But just today I saw in one of the plurks of strangers
this song and it says it is a PBB song. I checked it out and this is it, what I’m looking for.
Sharing you It’s Gonna Make Sense by Michael Learns To Rock. This is Pinoy Big Brother Double Up’s Farewell/Goodbye Song to the evictees.
