Mar 12th
American Idol’s Jason Castro will be having a concert in Ayala Center Cebu on March 20, 2010. Warner Music Phils. and the Ayala Malls bring Jason Castro to the Philippines for a post-Valentine treat.
Jason Castro is a singer-songwriter and is part of American Idol Season 7 together with Cook and Archuleta. Castro was one of the most popular artists in AI history and is well known as the first contestant ever to play an instrument on the show. One of his most remembered renditions is the classic “Hallelujah” which became an instant audience favorite and an iTunes hit (Buckley rendition). Another favorite from him is the “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” unique rendition which also hit the charts. He was also one of those who made “American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008″ successful.

Soothing, Inspiring Solo Piano From Jim Chappell
Jan 3rd
Jim Chappell is one of contemporary music’s most engaging composers and performers. He is a brilliant pianist, has 15 albums to his credit, has toured to lots of places and has guested in several US TV shows. His latest album release was last October 2009 and entitled Rise.
I have this love in listening to piano music. Probably out of frustration since I wanted to learn how to play the piano but never had the chance to. I believe that piano music is therapy to stress. That’s why I decided to purchase Jim Chappell’s latest album, Rise. Rise has 14 tracks in it.
Passionata: A Cultural Heritage Celebration
Dec 3rd
[30 November 2009] After the Asia-in-a-basket Cebu food bloggers event in SM Foodcourt is the concert Passionata: A Cultural Heritage Celebration. Vanjohnn gave me and other 8 bloggers complimentary tickets to the said concert. Passionata is a concert to showcase Cebu’s finest group singers, Cebu’s highly-acclaimed songs, the Philippines’ cultural legacy in the field of music and also the whole world’s greatest musical contributions.
Three groups participated in the concert. The first one is a personal favorite, the Asian Troubadours. The other two being the Cebu Chamber Singers and the Mandaue Children’s Choir.
I first came to know Asian Troubadours when a bunch of their sampler CDs were distributed during the DigitalFilipino event in Waterfront. I grabbed one! And when I listened to the CD, I simply could say that it was ecstatic. Their music is amazing, not the amazing kind that will knock you off your feet but something that will peace you down, make you proud, and say that we have brilliant talents here in our very own place. During the 440th Anniversary of Cebu, their song Cebu 440 Overture is the theme song. (Read my Asian Troubadours post)
Here’s my favorite, the Cebu 440 Overture by the Asian Troubadours.
