Speak Up in 2012: Say it all now

Say it all now.

Have you ever wanted to say something out loud but you can’t because you are afraid of what others might say? Have you ever wanted to defend someone but you can’t because you are afraid others might bully you too? Have you ever wanted to resist something bad and unjust but you can’t because you feel you are nothing against those forces? If yes, then you are not alone.

Mostly it is the adults speaking for us, the youth, for our future. They reshape the world. So as media. Media, though generally a good thing (entertainment, arts, information), it has reshaped our world far more than what we have thought. Reaction to The Cove

I have always been a fan of dolphins ever since I was a child. The 1996 film starring Elijah Wood was a long-time favorite. Flipper. I even have a movie storybook of it. But I have never seen an actual dolphin yet. I know where they are in the Philippines though and I am planning to go next year.

But then I saw The Cove.

The Cove is a 2009 documentary film that analyzes and questions Japan’s dolphin hunting culture (from Wikipedia). Take note of the world culture. The documentary is an eye-opener — with what is actually happening in Japan, specifically in Taiji (太地) where dolphins are numerously caught, slaughtered and their meat sold.

Citta di Mare which means “the city by the sea”, is a master-planned community spanning approximately 50 hectares at the newly reclaimed South Road Properties of the Cebu City Government. This is a joint project of Filinvest and the Cebu City Government.

Citta di Mare is not the first Filinvist project in Cebu but will be the largest so far (and even third in the whole country). It boasts a lot of things, promising quality of life for its residents, including waterfront and seaside leisure, productivity, safety and many more.
