Update 004: Wounded

On my way to work. Out of sheer bad luck?

Also my sister’s very messy room on the background.

Update 003: Say it all now (or regret later)

I remember the ending part of a famous John Mayer song,  It’s better to say too much than to never to say what you need to say. That phrase always sticks to my head ever since I heard that song. But I won’t get deeper into that. There’s a reason why this update’s title is Say it all now.

1. Dreamy dinner at Yumeya Kihei Japanese restaurant. Our bridge engineer in Japan treated us to dinner at Yumeya Kihei restaurant in Mabolo. Short explanation, Yumeya (夢屋) means dream room/store/shop. Well, they really serve delicious and authentic Japanese food. I had gyudon (牛丼) or beef bowl which was at Php350. Food is quite expensive though but I’m sure it’s worth the price. See map below.

2. iOS5 is out and about on my phone. I woke up one in the morning of the 13th just to update my phone’s OS to iOS5. Unfortunately, it got errors with verification on Apple’s end. Around six, all my music and video files were erased but my phone was already rocking iOS5. Nothing really remarkable and extremely amazing (since Siri’s off the bundle) except that the notification center/bar, the accessible camera app from the lock screen, +volume button to take a photo, the Reminders app, and the sync-via-WiFi are the ones that really made me happy. And yeah, iMessage. It’s just so cool. Been testing iMessage with others and works great. Plus it’s blue.

3. People should not get disappointed when their calls are not answered. There are times when even though you are not busy, you just don’t want to answer calls. And some people are too pushy to let you answer your phone even though you don’t want to. Let’s not think about these people now.

Update 002: Let’s travel!

St. Augustine said, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” I’d certainly pick that up. I like traveling once in a while. And I certainly don’t want to do it alone; I love to do it with family and friends. Another quote, this time from someone named Jim Cahill, says that “A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” I could not agree more.

1. Bantayan Island – Yes, it’s decided. Our Bantayan trip will be pushed through at the end of the month. It’s already my 2nd time and I’m still very excited. I’ll be going this time with a different set of friends, those I’ve known since high school and college. There’s 10 of us and I expect we’ll have loads of fuuun.

2. Hong Kong – Is this for real? A month ago, I predicted that the year I can set foot to an international destination again is 2013 or 2014. But, here it is! A ticket for 2012 to Hong Kong. I’ll be going with my friend Rose and we’ll be there for 3 days. This is my 2nd time though — I went to HK last 2007 with my family and I was too young to appreciate Hong Kong then? Really, really excited about this but, as trips need budget, we both need to keep a keen eye on our expenses and save. Phew. Sacrifices to get to the goal.

A shot I took while in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong (Sony Cybershot)

3. Boracay – We have a scheduled trip with office mates to Boracay this December. We have Cebu-Iloilo tickets and we plan to do the bus route from Iloilo to Caticlan. But given that I need a huge budget for Hong Kong, I don’t think I’ll be pushing through with this trip. They say Boracay’s cost catches up with that of Hong Kong’s. One must be sacrificed, I guess.
