Which Skechers shoe is right for you?

Together with fellow bloggers, we invaded the Skechers shoe store in the Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu yesterday (March 12). Hearing the brand Skechers, it always gives me the impression of high-quality, high-priced sports shoes. That’s the impression I had on the brand ever since I was a kid. But it somehow shifted after our little tour of the Skechers store which included us being introduced to Skechers’ new line of products and the technologies behind. There’s gotta be more to the “high-quality” and “high-priced” impressions.

One of the highly-endorsed product line from Skechers now is the Skechers Shape-ups. Since Skechers is all about fitness and improving lifestyle, they have prepared 3 types of Shape-ups to suit the fitness level of a person.

Bowling and Billiards at the SM Bowling Center

Last Friday, my friends and I went to go bowling for two main reasons: for the fun of it and as a despidida party for Darmae who’ll be leaving for Manila soon. The last time I went bowling was in college for our PE class. It was my first time then too.

Bowling is not the ordinary sport. You have to pay for the session and the bowling shoes which is quite costly if you are on a tight budget. But it won’t hurt if done once in a while.

We went bowling at the SM Bowling Center of SM City Cebu. The place is filled with Koreans and a couple of Filipinos bowling like pros. For one game, each person has to pay Php90. For peak hours, Php70 only. The bowling shoes cost Php30. When we started playing, there were a few flaws in the equipment — the pins fall by themselves, and once, the pins never came back. But after that, everything was smooth already.

I wasn’t good at bowling. I wasn’t a loser at it either. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I go for the canal. But the most important thing is that we had fun. :D

We decided to go billiards next. It was my second time too, at the same place. The last time I did it was in Grade 6, lol. Billiards is equally fun but I enjoy it more compared to bowling. The first round we practiced and the next rounds we get a bit serious at it. It was really fun.

Me trying at it. I'm not very good at this.

Hoping to play bowling or billiards again soon! :) More photos here.

Running For Dear Life

One of my New Year’s resolutions include running. I never managed to do that since I was busy catching up with my graduation. But now that I’m working and the schedule might not be too unpredictable, I am giving it a try.

I’ve read from a lot of texts that running is a good cardiovascular activity. It doesn’t build big muscles — it just makes you healthy (compared to religiously going to the gym). It makes you happy and active too. As a person in the information technology field where sitting all day long is demanded from the body, I might lead me to a very sedentary lifestyle. Running is a good option for me since I’m no sports jock either.
