Globe’s Super Surf & Power Surf

Ever tired of relying on free WiFi just to connect to the internet wherever you go? That’s what usually happens to me. I have to find the WiFi spot of a mall, or go and spend a little just to hitch to a coffee or yogurt shop’s free WiFi. That’s because I had this notion that connecting to the internet through my mobile service provider can be quite costly and a pain in the pocket. But I just found out, after reading some entries over at YugaTech, that mobile service providers have now prepared affordable offers/promos to subscribers for mobile internet connectivity. It’s an addition to the line of competition for these mobile companies, and we’ll see whose offer kicks the most. But in this post, let’s talk about Globe’s.

Actually, Globe Telecom has two offers for its subscribers. The first one is called Globe Super Surf, available to both postpaid & prepaid subscribers. For as low as P50, one can browse the internet for one whole day. The second one, Globe Power Surf, is available only to prepaid subscribers. The difference is that Power Surf offers mobile internet which is consumable per minute. P15 can go for as long as 60 minutes of internet connectivity. If you spend more time on the internet, go for Super Surf. If you want to hop in and check the web at many intervals a day, go for Power Surf.

Note: Globe also offers postpaid plans and you can get the Samsung Galaxy Tab below at Plan P2,499 with FREE 30 days Super Surf.

Promo details:

Super Surf – Postpaid

Samsung Champ C3303K Mobile Review

Last September 11, I got myself a new phone (since my Samsung E250 died already) through Sun Cellular’s Plan 350. I chose the Samsung Champ C3303K which is free in the said plan. It is one of the newest units for Plan 350. So tomorrow will be my first month of usage for my Samsung Champ. It’s time for a quick review then.

Specs-wise, the Samsung Champ falls under the simple and basic call and text phone. It is a touchscreen (TouchWiz Lite UI) phone with a 240×320 pixels screen. I won’t focus on listing the specs (it can be found here @ GSM Arena) but instead will discuss some of the most prominent features of the Samsung Champ.

Intel: How To Choose The Right PC

Together with other members of Cebu Bloggers Society and some media from Cebu, I attended the Intel Cebu Blogger Workshop last September 9, 2010 at the Marriott Hotel in Cebu City. Simply put, the hour-plus workshop tackled the topic on how to choose the right PC for you.

In college, I was the type of Computer Science student who didn’t care about computer specs too much — as long as my program runs smoothly, then it’s good to go. I avoid the processor-driven topics. My mom usually asks but I just scratch my head. That is why the Intel event is my saving grace. And that is why I willingly chose to attend it.

Discussed in the workshop are the basics of a computer system with highlights on processor and RAM topics. The main topic focused on choosing the right PC for every kind of individual. There is no perfect PC for everyone. Each one carries a different personality up his sleeve. Therefore, our PC needs vary from one another too.

Now let’s see what kind of PC suits us. A PC for every personality.
