CMSC 142 Class Tours Cebu North!

As part of the finals activity for the CMSC 142 class, we decided to have Suroy-suroy Sugbo, a class tour to some hot spots in Cebu North. Touring Cebu South is cliche so we decided to do it the opposite way this time.

Our first stop is in Lilo-an — where lilo or whirlpools are frequent. We went to see Silot Bay. Nothing fascinating really. Maybe because I’ve been here before. And the scorching sun’s heat was killing the enjoyment at the first stop.

Next stop is in Q Park, Compostela. It is a place of retreat. But then again, the challenge of going up to the top defeated us all. And Holy Week wasn’t due til next week, so we decided to go to the next stop instead. We went to Danao City. We stopped at their historical-looking Santo Tomas de Villanueva Church (photo below), strolled a little at the park, then filled their kids playground with our baby faces. I even think we scared off the kids playing in the playground.

We hit lunch right after in a nearby barbecue restaurant — Bamboo Grill. Before we ate, we took our Finals Exam for CMSC 142. Right place, yeah? Right after lunch was some not-so-fun entertainment  . And then off we went to the next and farthest stop we could reach — Carmen. I am one of those assigned to choose a place in Carmen. I chose St. Benedict Monastery simply because I know as graduating students, we needed to pray for guidance. And the best place to do the praying and reflecting is there (I’ve been in the place many times already). I could also have chosen Uragay cold spring but our class is off-limits to water.

Since a lot of my classmates were not so inclined to praying for their future, we left the place early and headed to Green Lagoon resort in Compostela to kill time and have fun. Some frolicked on the seashore, some played volleyball, some watched the game, some did nothing, and some did videoke. I was one of those who did the last item — sang Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’, dedicated to the graduating students  .

We hit off the road right after we sensed the sunset coming. We were to catch the sunset in Lilo-an’s parola or lighthouse. Unfortunately, the sunset is on the other side. I caught it on lens by the way.

I’ve been in this place before too so nothing really fascinating. The lighthouse that stood there is really old and still looks good up to this day.

The highlight of the tour, our giving of tokens to our adviser, happened at the parola base. We gave our teacher fans that are  personalized with our own notes as our sign of gratitude to him for being an amazing teacher. We then took our class picture.

The parola is our last stop. We all then went back to the city and to our homes right after the fun tour.

I guess that’s the last time I will be spending some time out with the batch. We’re gonna hit the industry soon. I’ll miss this batch, painfully.
