Akihabara@DEEP Group Shot!
Today, I finished off the Akihabara@DEEP special. I don’t want it to end but Japanese dramas are short-lived.
Akihabara@DEEP is a story about 6 otakus (namely: Box, Taiko, Akira, Page, Izm & Daruma) grouped together by an internet figure named Yui-san. Together, they keep the lively city (にぎやかな都会) of Akihabara in Japan safe from evil and the deeds of their nemesis, Nakagomi. ぼくはいつか日本にいきます。
The series is composed of 11 episodes and a special. I started watching it when Mikyu suggested it to me. I’m on a lookout for Japanese drama/anime/songs right now so I could enhance my Nihongo skills. But I loved this series not because it is in Japanese but because it really is good. I wonder why it never reached the Philippines…
Akihabara@DEEP is not a new series. I downloaded it through torrent only. It was released in Japan around 2006. I was high school then. So probably now nobody would know what this is. Even our two sensei’s never heard of the series.
Anyways, just sharing this one. Akihabara@DEEP will always be one of the best Japanese drama/comedy series for me.
P.S. There’s a movie version but the actors & characters are different from the TV series. I haven’t watched it. Mikyu said it was boring.
