My 20th birthday is one of the most memorable birthdays that I have. And I owe it all to my Cebu Bloggers Society family.
August 21, my birthday, is a holiday for the August Twenty-One Movement (ATOM) in memory of Ninoy Aquino who died on this very same day in 1983. That means a lot of us bloggers have our day free from work and classes. So we decided to have our Cebu Heritage Tour, a video shoot to promote tourism and the environment, that day (another post will be for this topic). Therefore, my birthday would have to be spent then with my CBS family, something that I’m glad to do.
Our assembly area was in Basilica Minore del Santo Nino. I offered a prayer for my birthday while waiting for the others to arrive. When we were already complete, we started the shoot. We started in Magellan’s Cross (outside the basilica) then did some in front of the basilica too.

After Sto Nino and Magellan’s Cross/City Hall, we walked a steamy walk towards the oldest street in the Philippines, Colon.
Our next stop was the Cebu Provincial Capitol. This is where I’m supposed to deliver some line about sovereign authority and electoral vote.

The Extraordinary Kiddo
After that, we followed our itinerary and went to Larsian, Cebu’s barbecue haven, for some lunch to fill our hungry and protesting stomachs. This is where the surprise comes in. First and foremost, I was surprised when Beejing and Kai arrived later bringing a cake! It was my first time to be surprised with a cake.

I love this pic! Vanjohnn and Agnes blowing the candles with me!
And the second surprise, the Larsian lunch is a treat from Vanjohnn and Winston! Wee! There’s nothing more that I could ask for that day! Euphoria.
After the very happy and long lunch in Larsian, we went to Fuente Osmena Circle to do another shoot. Those who are not involved in the scenes just had fun in the very hot afternoon under the shade of Fuente’s trees.
Here is our on-the-spot photoshoot. Don’t be intrigued. This is A photoshoot.

After Fuente, we headed to the over pass near Robinson’s. We ran out of battery there so we have to go and have ourselves some break in the Mendoza family’s pharmacy/parlor to have the batteries charged. We then separated ways. Some went to IT Park, some to Ayala and the rest of us to Velez College. After resting in Velez College, we (except Vanjohnn) went to Ayala to meet the others.
We went to Starbucks in Ayala not to have some coffee but to… sleep.

The last shoot for the day was in the Terraces of Ayala.
Even bloggers know how to get tired
We then went to have some ice cream care of Atty. Ethelbert! This is where we had some funny talks and Guada was making prophecies of each one of our futures.
We finished talking and laughing about an hour after and while Mikyu and I decided to go home (my family’s looking for me), the rest went to dine in the mall. Unfortunately, while going home, Kai texted me that they were in the police station because Agnes’ bag was stolen in McDonald’s. McDo must upgrade their security measures then.
Back to topic, I also received a birthday gift from Mikyu. It is a book entitled The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.
Now the thank-you’s. Thank you so much to Kai, Beejing and company for the cake, Vanjohnn and Winston for the lunch treat, Attorney Bert for the ice cream treat to everyone, Mikyu for the great book you gave me and to everyone who were there (maybe for the heritage tour and not for my birthday
) and to everyone who greeted me. It was such a great birthday to remember!
I love you all. Now I’m 20 years old. What awaits…
