So here comes (hopefully) my last year in college. They say it is the most memorable. But a lot say it is the most excruciating part of college and that if you endure and get past it, the rewards would be more than you could ask for. Of course, I meant a diploma. ;-)

The last year also meant for me to search for that special problem that would push me to having my toga and all the accessories of graduation. Why the hell would I search for a special problem? Can’t I take an ordinary and cliche problem instead? Like love, money and…

Back to topic. Special Problem is what we call our research or thesis. Tradition says that this is the focal point of failure in students. Let me kill that tradition, okay?

Now I am in dire need of collecting ideas or better yet finalize a research topic for my next semester. I’ve been incubating on a pool of ideas but it’s not working. The ideas just don’t materialize into full-blown topics.

Look up, should I do biometrics? Should I end up doing  more and kinky research on keyless locks and all sorts? Yagit suggested to me a technology called OpenCellID and some applications specifically the area of mobile locator services. I’ve been asking a lot about it but nobody in my league know about it. I was also too shy to ask Dr. Patrice Boursier (a PhD in CS from France) in the August 5, 2009 talk about it. I thought about a lot of applications that are possible using OpenCellID but I just don’t know if it is feasible with my time and resources.

I could also do flooding prediction or simulations through remote sensing by the way. But I’m absolutely clueless. So what to do now? Keyless lock or face recog applications, mobile locator services or flood prediction/simulation software? This IS where you come in. :!:

I plead to anybody who has some know-how in the field of Computer Science to suggest to me a research topic, one which is feasible for an undergraduate and a poor kiddo like me. Please. I’d solicit ideas now. The next few months may be too late. Or I don’t know. I just need freakin’ ideas now so I could start doing something productive for my future.

Please suggest, o-kay?
