Movies Coming Out On July 2009 Part 1

Movies 28 June 2009 15 Comments

June is ending. July is quickly approaching. Buzzing in the entertainment scene are the bundle of upcoming movies that will come out on July 2009. June has brought us Transformers 2 (which I haven’t watched yet by the way) and Drag Me To Hell. What awaits us for the month of July?

The following movies are for the first half of July since we can’t accommodate all the movies for the month in one post.

ICE AGE 3: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS – July 1

The third installment of Ice Age is here!
Change is in the air for the Ice Age gang. Manny and Ellie are expecting a bouncing baby mammoth, and Diego is suffering from a feline identity crisis. Just when they think life couldn’t get any more complicated, they discover that deep below familiar layers of snow and ice lies a hidden tropical world populated by — you guessed it — dinosaurs. In this alien landscape, new dangers await them, as well as a new ally in the form of a dashing, dino-hunting weasel named Buck.

Ice Age 3

Ice Age 3 is also now in 3D! I expect this one to be fun just like the previous Ice Age installments.

PUBLIC ENEMIES – July 1

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp plays lead role in this action-drama movie Public Enemies.
America is drowning in the dismal depths of the Great Depression, and all over the country, the common man is harboring a hatred for the Big Bad Banks. Enter charismatic bank robber John Dillinger, folk hero to the masses and the scourge of the FBI. The Bureau sends the debonair Agent Melvin Purvis after Dillinger and his gang in an effort to call a halt to the runaway crime spree, but in order to catch a notorious criminal, the lawmen must learn to think like criminals themselves.

THE GIRL FROM MONACO – July 3

A brilliant and neurotic attorney goes to Monaco to defend a famous criminal. But, instead of focusing on the case, he falls for a beautiful she-devil, who turns him into a complete wreck. Hopefully, his zealous bodyguard will step in and put everything back in order. Or will he?

BRUNO – July 10

I saw the trailer of Bruno when I watched Drag Me To Hell in the cinema. One word: hilarious. Another word: gay.
The story is what exactly what you’d expect when Sacha Baron Cohen is on the loose. Unfortunate Americans get caught with their pants down (and sometimes with Cohen’s pants down) repeatedly and mercilessly as Cohen travels across the country posing as Bruno, a flamboyantly gay Austrian model on a quest to find himself. Along the way he sickens homophobes, embarrasses celebrities, and names his adopted black baby “O.J.”
Judging on the trailer I saw, Bruno would probably make you laugh. I just remember how we at school codenamed a girl that name.

I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER – July 10

I love you, Beth Cooper

Heroes’ Claire Benett, Hayden Panettiere, stars in this teen comedy I love you, Beth Cooper.
It’s a classic tale of nerd meets girl, nerd loses girl, girl shows up unexpectedly at nerd’s graduation party and takes him on a wild ride all over town. In this teen comedy, clueless valedictorian Denis Cooverman uses his high school graduation speech as a platform to announce his feelings for Beth Cooper, the most gorgeous girl in school. Imagine his shock when Beth shows up later that night at his house and gives him a night he’ll never forget.
I like Heroes and I like Hayden so probably this movie would turn out good for me.

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE -July 15

My most-awaited movie for July. I was disappointed upon seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in the cinema because of the many cuts and story manipulations but that did not stop me from getting excited about the sixth movie.
At last the Hogwarts gang returns to theaters in the highly anticipated sixth installment of the Harry Potter movie franchise. In this dark, epic tale, Professor Dumbledore works with Harry and with newcomer Professor Horace Slughorn to unravel the chilling mysteries behind Voldemort’s immortality. All the while, the siren song of teenage romance works its magic on Harry and Ginny, as well as on Ron, who finds himself the unexpected object of more than one female’s attentions.

Quite excited here. Just look at the trailer so you’ll know why you have to get excited. Harry Potter film is getting gloomier and serious. I think I’ll have to save for this one. Or maybe wait for it in torrent sites?

Other movies to come out on July 1 to 15, 2009: (Note: These movies are marked limited which means this may not be released in your area)

July 3, 2009
I Hate Valentine’s Day
Lion’s Den
Local Color

July 10, 2009
Blood: The Last Vampire
Humpday
Soul Power

Those are the movies that are to come out on the first half of July. Watch out for the next part of Movies Coming Out On July 2009.
