Don’t Close Your Eyes Yet

I can’t believe it. I only slept for just two hours yesterday! Two cold hours. And not at home. Emily and I were at Maellen’s house to continue building our database project. We should have done more if not because of Silberschatz! Damn. Anyways, I was fighting off Mr. Sandman last night with all my might. Of course, sometimes I thought I failed but all of a sudden I just woke up. Usually, 11PM is the moment wherein Mr. Sandman K.O.’s me to slumber. Sometimes if I fight back, he’d put pepper in my eyes. But yesterday was a different thing. I put up a good fight. The battle between Mr. Sandman and I reached 4 in the morning. And then he won. Nevertheless, it was a long fight.

I had to wake up 2 hours later so I could go home and prepare myself for the non-productive interview which I regret going to. I went to school after, on high. I bought for the first time Nescafe Freez Latte to kill the drowsiness. Nothing happened. I was attentive in class. But I looked very tired, I know. I had to miss my 4PM class because I can’t take it anymore.

Anyways, instead of going home, I got myself treated to a strawberry parfait in Ice Castle. Thanks Cath, Jenny and Jean. They enticed me to eat instead of going home right away.

When I reached home, I never slept. Until now.

I know a lot of college students are also experiencing the same dilemmas. Less sleep and more work. School work. March can really be demanding. This is where the problems start surprising you, attacking you stealthily. Our finals week is next week. I am gonna be in my worst state then. Boo hoo.

Anyways, for those who are getting less sleep like me because of school stuff, don’t forget to catch up later on your sleeping hours. Rest is important because no rest means no life. Fail. Just eat well and have some vitamins or fruits. And water, yeah. In a matter of days, everything would be over. I hope.

Good luck to all the students! May your grades be friendly to you.

Spit And Butts

Two questions I ask everyday when I go to school:

Why do some people love to spit anywhere?

Is it habit? Is it influence? Or is it fad? I don’t know. I have recently been observing everything when I commute to school. I even planned to count the number of people spitting on streets or sidewalks in one day. But I think I cannot.

One thing I notice is that jeepney drivers are the ones who love to spit on the road. Is it an ecstatic feeling to spit out in public? Wouldn’t it be embarrassing?

It is dirty. And those with diseases can easily spread the germs anywhere. It also adds to how dirty a place is. Would you want to bring spit on your doorstep?

Is there no law about this one? Is this freely allowed? I’ve seen several traffic enforcers do this. I’ve even seen professionals doing it too when they’re in the sidewalk.

I guess we’ll all have to live with that.

Or not.

Why are some drivers very undisciplined?

I’m not just talking about traffic rules and ethics but also when it comes to cleanliness. Drivers love to smoke a lot. The funny thing is that they have “No Smoking” signs inside. Another nasty thing is that they throw their cigarette butts in the middle of the street. Is the public road their trash bin?

I am concerned of the cleanliness of our country. I’m not saying I don’t litter. Sometimes I do, but very rarely. Drivers on the other hand, I see them litter everyday of my life. And it is not a good view.

One thing, I also see cigarette butts in our school canteen. Even students?

Philippines, my Philippines

We have so many laws but how many are actually implemented? Local citizens get very irresponsible because they are left to do what they want, good or not. These are quite petty things but they could accumulate and turn into something we don’t want.

Philippines, my Philippines. Oh well.

Secondhand Serenade Live At Ayala Center Cebu

Swoon Over The Sweetest Serenade

Secondhand Serenade, an American acoustic rock solo project fronted by vocalist and guitarist John Vesely will be here on March 30, 2009 (Monday) at The Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu. The live concert will start at 7 in the evening.

After SM gave us the free Boyce Avenue concert, now it is Ayala’s turn to please the crowd. I expect many people to see the concert since classes have already probably ended by this time.

Secondhand Serenade’s hit songs include Vulnerable, Fall For You, Your Call and my favorite, (which didn’t become popular in the air waves) Maybe.

There is probably a meet-and-greet portion after the show but you have to get an entry pass. According to Ayala’s Concierge, you have to have a receipt with a certain amount to get one. As of now, the mechanics are not yet given. For more info, approach the Concierge near the Activity Center.

Shall I Or Shall I Not Hibernate?

Never have I been so stressed like what I am experiencing right now. It is March and it means for students like me that it is the month of giving-it-all-until-your-last-breath and also, judgment month. Phew.

I won’t deny that I am scared of the outcome of my grades. This semester is very bad for me. I have done okay in the previous semesters. Now, doom. Where’s my future?

Next week will be a good one. Good. An exam a day keeps the brain cells away. BTW, that was sarcasm. I have so many exams and a database to build and a play to manage and an ISA to make. We all do. I understand that no “good” student is idle on a month like this. We all are being tortured. But I like it. Not much.

That is why I’m asking myself, hibernate or not? From being active (i.e. blogging) in the online world of course. I will try to be less active in the next 14 days and try to drown myself in my lessons until I get high. I know Mr. Lappy will tempt me. And I know I will be tempted. Hope not.

So help me God. Cartesian or not.

A Picture Tag

I don’t do tags and link trains or whatever the terms are but this one will be an exception because for one, it is unusual, and for another, it was a close friend who tagged me. So I’ll do this one and I’ll pass it to others soon. Or not. I don’t pass tags. I’ll just do it and not pass it. Thanks blannehom.

Here are the rules:

“Use Google image to search the answers to the questions below. You must choose a picture from the first page of the results, and post it as your answer. After that, tag 7 people.”

I hate rules. I’m supposed to use Flickr. Anyways

(1) The age of my next birthday

(2) Place I’d like to travel to

(3) Favourite food

(4) Favourite place

(5) One of my nicknames (Kick the Adams 11 away)

(6) Favourite color

(7) College major

(8) Name of my love

(9) Hobby

(10) Bad habits

(11) My wishlist

Hope you didn’t sleep after all of that. Anyways, I’m passing it to nobody but I’d appreciate it if someone comes up and say that he/she will do this tag.

I do not own any of the 11 photos.
