The line “No Approved Therapeutic Claims” found at the end of supplement ads is cliche. We see it everywhere — commercials, newspaper ads, magazines, social networks and obviously on the boxes of health supplements themselves. While every Filipino can memorize this 4-line phrase, I doubt that only a few percent really understood the vague yet important message behind it. The Department of Health tried to wipe away the confusion (as therapeutic is not your friendly-type word) by converting the phrase into its Filipino version:
Mahalagang Paalala: Ang (name of product) Ay Hindi Gamot At Hindi Dapat Gamiting Panggamot sa Anumang Uri ng Sakit.
Did that help? Partly, but no. Multi-level marketing models, celebrity-driven commercials and heavy advertising don’t contribute either.
Globe Telecom tries to catch up on the competitive lane competing against other mobile networks offering unlimited call and text services to their consumers. Introducing the newest offer from Globe, Super One, the latest telebabad service for Globe Postpaid and Fully Loaded subscribers.
Super One is unique because it is the first and only unlimited call/text service to your frequently called number. You only have to pick at least a single number (you can choose more than one though) and sign it up as your Super One. Using your Globe Postpaid plan, calling and texting that person to your heart’s desire is made possible. You can choose whether to stay in touch with your spouse, lover, best friend, or whoever you may want to get connected always through call and text. Globe Super One subscription is only P150 for each number every month.
AyosDito.ph has been on the run for a few years already. And it is still the best online marketplace in the Philippines. Our country having its very own online classified or marketplace could give each one of us, whether we intend to buy or sell, a vast array of potential (buyers, profit) and choices.
I haven’t tried selling on AyosDito.ph yet but I’m sure that posting your endorsed product here will ensure you to have potential customers right away. What I tried doing in AyosDito.ph several times already is to scout for products which I wish to purchase. Once I was searching for a PSP, then for an iPod. Searching for such items was easy and fast. Last year, I had the dilemma of choosing between working here in Cebu or in Manila. I had my hopes up for the latter, and just the right thing: pre-searching for a condo unit or apartment for rent, done at AyosDito.ph of course. Obviously, I decided to stay in Cebu and searching for condo units or apartments, charge it to experience.
Searching for "ipod" on sellers from Central Visayas in the category "Mobile Phones and Gadgets". Convenient!
Finally bought a copy of Christopher Paolini‘s Brisingr (Inheritance Cycle, Book 3). I can’t afford the hardbound so I took the paperback instead. Brisingr completes the Inheritance Cycle trilogy together with Eragon and Eldest. Eragon, the movie, got negative reviews so expectedly, Eldest and Brisingr might have no future as films.
I like Eragon more than Eldest. Brisingr might be the best. Book review after I finish reading.
(Brisingr, paperback edition, is only P289 at National Bookstore)
Zac Efron has gone away from his singing antics in High School Musical and Hairspray starting in the comedy-drama 17 Again. Now he’s back for a more-dramatic-fantasy-congested film entitled Charlie St. Cloud. And I’ll be definitely watching it in the big screen.
Why I’d watch the movie:
it has the brother-promise twist which makes it even more interesting
it’s not always that you see a movie wherein the lead guy has to choose between the lover and the brother
I find the plot interesting and worth my time and money
More not-so-important points:
at 0:36 in the trailer, it reminds me of the movie Raise Your Voice (Hilary Duff)
the girl paired with Efron is not that pretty, but I guess that’s not important given this is no ero movie
the soundtrack’s pretty cool
Charlie St. Cloud will be shown starting July 30. That means I still have time to save for it.
