Pardon me of my childishness but fantasy movies always make me wanna go out from reality and live on the realm where extraordinary things could happen. This coming 2010, two fantasy movies will come out to stimulate our imaginations and make us want to jump out from this ordinary world.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief back to back with The Last Airbender (coming out July 2010) will be on theaters worldwide next year. I am quite excited.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
February 12, 2010
Hello Greek mythology infused with the modern world! From the director of the first two Harry Potter movies, Chris Columbus, comes a fantasy/adventure novel-based movie entitled Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a movie about a boy who discovered he was a demi-god, son of a mortal and the god Poseidon. Percy was accused of stealing the lightning bolt of Zeus and the magic helm of Hades which brought the three gods (Zues, Hades and Poseidon) into a major dispute. Percy goes on an adventure together with mythological characters intersecting on a modern day America, to retrieve the lightning bolt and return it to Zeus. Read the whole synopsis here.

Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson
About Percy Jackson: Percy Jackson is played by Logan Lerman. I knew Logan Lerman long long ago through the TV series Jack & Bobby. Jack & Bobby, though not continued, is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. Logan Lerman plays the younger brother, Bobby, back to back with Matt Long as Jack.

Why I’d love to see this movie: I grew up loving Greek mythology ever since I was a young kid (thanks to the encyclopedia). I haven’t read the novel but I plan to look for it in the local bookstore. This movie would tickle my imaginations again. If only there’d be a mythology course offered, I’d take it.
See the Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief Trailer below.
So hurry up and mark your calendars for the coming of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief on February 12, 2010!
