Tonight, I am on Power Rangers mode. I basically grew up with the series starting on its beginning until I grew up and became busy. I will not be telling what Power Rangers is, what it’s not. You can read it here. I’m here to worship the series, lol.
I remember when I was still a little kiddo, I used to spend nights in my cousin’s house in Labangon, Cebu City. He has a collection of the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger series in VHS. They were rich so he had those. And I am happy to share. We also watched the movie versions when they already transferred to Banilad (I think).
Power Rangers brings back really good memories I could remember the rest of my life. Here are some:
- I used to play around and think as if I am Jason (Red Ranger) – use swords, jump around in the bodega, and do the hand thing they do when transforming
- I have the complete Megazord toy! And they can all be separated to become each ranger’s Zords. My mother bought it in Hong Kong and I was really really happy way back then. After many years only the Rhinoceros and Saber-tooth Tiger were left. I wonder where my childhood toys are now?!
- I have a mask of Red Ranger.
- I have playing cards (apir-apir in local language) and it was really thick.
When I was a kid I really wanted to become a Power Ranger. But damn school, I became boring.
I wasn’t able to follow the series until the present time (they will release a new Power Rangers saga January 2010). I could only remember watching these (including the first one above):
There were a lot of Power Rangers saga that followed and I guess math and science were already torturing me then so I didn’t have the luxury of it’s-morphin-time time.
I am so frenzied with remembering my Power Rangers happy memories that I downloaded the theme song of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers too. Wawawawa, so high.
