I Cast My Vote: Philippine Blog Awards 2009 Bloggers’ Choice Special Award (Visayas)

If I were to choose between voting for my blog, The Extraordinary Kiddo, and voting for another blog, then I’d probably vote… hmmm, let me think first. Hahaha.
First of all, it’s great knowing I’m part of the long line of nominees for the Philippine Blog Awards 2009 Bloggers’ Choice Special Award for Visayas. Together with me are some friends and co-Cebu Bloggers Society members (like Mikyu, Aika, Kristine Roa and Jayr). My classmate’s boyfriend is also one of the nominees.
But where will my vote befall? Should I go narcissus-style and vote for me and only me or should I cast my vote on a blog deserving to be branded Bloggers’ Choice?

Sumilon Bluewater, Not Just Your Ordinary Getaway

There lies an island on the south of Cebu that holds such a simple yet stunning beauty that would surely mesmerize the eye that sees it. Located 125 kilometers from Cebu City, Sumilon Island is worth the long trip down the winding and historical road of Cebu South. Such protection of Sumilon’s aquatic wildlife made it possible for divers to spot a variety of marine species including black tip sharks.

The DigitalFilipino Club and Bloggers Networking Event 2009

Last July 11, 2009, I got to attend one big blogging and networking event at the Teatro Casino in Waterfront Hotel Cebu. The DigitalFilipino Club and Bloggers Networking Event was a total success! It was its second time in Cebu and my first time to attend the said event.
My expectations were big, as I know this is not just an ordinary event (it’s extraordinary! 
), but one wherein bloggers would be seen united and altogether connected. The DigitalFilipino Club and Bloggers Networking Event did not fail me. Aside from the informative talks about what’s buzzing around the blogosphere, the night was spent with a bunch of palatable dishes, some drinks and great music.

Cebu Bloggers Society:”Yehey!”

Yehey.Com, Philippines’ number one portal and search engine has finally decided to meet up with the uber-active Cebu Bloggers Society last May 28, 2009 at La Maison in The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
Yehey.Com has been recognizing the power of blogging for a long time already. They already had big events for bloggers in Manila like the over-mentioned TriNoma event for bloggers (it should also happen to us here, you know 
). Yehey believes that online advertising is one key to a successful business. That is why they recognize bloggers as catalysts for such online advertising system to grow and be noticed even by the larger crowd. What I like about Yehey is how they put things in a mutualistic manner between them, the bloggers and the advertisers. Other “institutions” use bloggers, pay them and tell them what to do. But that is the total opposite of what a real blogger is. Yehey knows that and adheres to ideas that do not break the essence of blogging. After a quick slideshow by Mr. Lim, Yehey’s CEO, small questions were answered. In the end, we signed an invisible contract forging cooperation between us bloggers and the Yehey team. The Successful ASUS Overclocking Show

ASUS, in cooperation with First Tier Branding Solutions Inc., invited us Cebu Bloggers Society (coming as press) to witness the very first overclocking show in the whole country entitled Asus Ultimate Overclocking Show 2009. The said show was held in SM Entertainment Plaza in SM City Cebu, 3:00PM to 6:00PM.
I believe everyone who knows what a computer is knows of the existence of a brand named Asus. Quick overview: Asus is a leading company in the new digital era. They have more than ten thousand staff worlwide and a world-class R&D design team. Asus ranks among the top 10 IT companies in BusinessWeek’s “InfoTech 100″ for 11 years already.
