Citta Di Mare Soon To Rise In Cebu

Whenever I hear the word Filinvest, what comes first on my mind is the slogan We build the Filipino dream. Think of it as just a cliche line but it’s a fact. Filinvest, the country’s leading real estate developer, realizes seven dreams every day. And they’re also about to realize Cebu’s dream city — a city by the sea, Citta di Mare.

Lipad, Biboy, lipad! should be changed to Langoy, Biboy, langoy! then huh? Citta di Mare which means “the city by the sea”, is a master-planned community spanning approximately 50 hectares at the newly reclaimed South Road Properties of the Cebu City Government. This is a joint project of Filinvest and the Cebu City Government.

Citta di Mare is not the first Filinvist project in Cebu but will be the largest so far (and even third in the whole country). It boasts a lot of things, promising quality of life for its residents, including waterfront and seaside leisure, productivity, safety and many more.

Running For Dear Life

One of my New Year’s resolutions include running. I never managed to do that since I was busy catching up with my graduation. But now that I’m working and the schedule might not be too unpredictable, I am giving it a try.

I’ve read from a lot of texts that running is a good cardiovascular activity. It doesn’t build big muscles — it just makes you healthy (compared to religiously going to the gym). Running is a good option for me since I’m no sports jock either.

Cebu City Heritage Tour Day 1

Have you ever felt how it is to be on a heritage tour even on your own place? Last August 21 and 31, 2009, Cebu Bloggers Society went on a heritage tour of Cebu City.

Cebu City is the oldest city in the Philippines and is hailed as the Queen City of the South. The city itself, though not very large in size, holds a lot of historical memories that dated even to the time of the Spaniards. I still remember our international project in high school entitled Calles de Cebu which means Streets of Cebu. It won gold but unfortunately, the website isn’t up anymore. Being on that project made me realize that Cebu is not only Cebu because of the Lapu-lapu-Magellan tandem but because of the many historical figures and events that graced this long living community.

This heritage tour, organized by Atty. Ouano includes a video footage of us, the bloggers, giving out lines (e.g. We will impress this message upon our political leaders that we now have this individual and collective political will. We implore our leaders to take heed) that relate to protecting nature and society as a whole. We call this project (or maybe advocacy?) Expression of Individual and Collective Will. Continue reading
