Cebu Blog Camp 2010

The very first Cebu Blog Camp (CBC) happened last May 22, 2010 at the CAP Theater in Cebu City. Almost a hundred bloggers from all over the Philippines came to witness this first of its kind event to happen in the Visayas region. The event was truly successful. Flaws here and there were noticed but were not enough to surpass the learning and fun that the blogger attendees experienced during the event.

I also happen to be part of the organizing team (called Blog and Soul Movement – Cebu Chapter). I wasn’t particularly assigned a specific task since I was extremely busy when we started planning for this event. The biggest salute goes to the head organizers, Batang Yagit, who works for CBC from Manila, and to the Photoblogger, for leading everyone here in Cebu. I’m Joining Cebu Blog Camp 2010

The very first Cebu Blog Camp 2010 will be on May 22, 2010 at the CAP Theater in Cebu City. As part of the organizing team, I wish all the success in this event. I haven’t been doing much of the assigned tasks (or tasks weren’t assigned much on me) since I was extremely busy, but on the day itself, I’ll try my best to help make the event really successful.

I’m excited to meet many bloggers from all around Philippines like I have done when I went to attend the iBlog Summit last year (2009). I hope it would give me an even greater satisfaction.

Cebu Blog Camp 2010 would not be possible if not because of our sponsors and supporters.

CMSC 142 Class Tours Cebu North!

As part of the finals activity for the CMSC 142 class, we decided to have Suroy-suroy Sugbo, a class tour to some hot spots in Cebu North. Touring Cebu South is cliche so we decided to do it the opposite way this time.

Our first stop is in Lilo-an — where lilo or whirlpools are frequent. We went to see Silot Bay. Nothing fascinating really. Maybe because I’ve been here before. And the scorching sun’s heat was killing the enjoyment at the first stop.

Next stop is in Q Park, Compostela. It is a place of retreat. But then again, the challenge of going up to the top defeated us all. And Holy Week wasn’t due til next week, so we decided to go to the next stop instead. We went to Danao City. We stopped at their historical-looking Santo Tomas de Villanueva Church (photo below), strolled a little at the park, then filled their kids playground with our baby faces. I even think we scared off the kids playing in the playground. Continue reading
