Should I run like Sam Witwicky or like Bumblebee?

Sam Witwicky is a real runner. He has been running off from angry Decepticons for 3 successful films already. And pretty girls Mikaela Banes and Carly Spencer have been running with him either in sand or rubble. Perfect.

Next weekend, I’d be joining Chinabank’s Fun Run and it will be my first time to join such kind of event. I won’t run like Sam Witwicky though. It would be nuts. And I only have my friend Charisse alongside me, and not Mikaela or Carly. Charisse pushed that we do the 6K (to think it’s both of us’ first time, the guts) and yes, we chose the 6K. I hope it would all be worth it. For those interested, sorry guys, the registration closed last July 1.

Anyways, moving on, I watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon last night in IMAX. It was, I quote Sinjin, a visual spectacle. The story is so-so and predictable but the effects were good. I was also expecting to see a less-effective portrayal of the leading lady by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (compared to Maegan Fox) but I think she’s great. And I like her more than Fox. As usual, it got me thinking how Shia LaBeouf transformed from the wacky guy of Disney’s Even Stevens (I used to watched that long ago) to the amazing Sam Witwicky we come to know in Transformers. After all, the title is Transformers  .

It was sad seeing Optimus Prime’s right hand cut off though. I hope they fix it. And seeing Bumblebee almost being totally blasted by a Decepticon made me nervous too. Anyways, it has been announced that this will be the last of the Transformers, so goodbye Autobots. I think the movie deserves an 8/10.

SM City Cebu’s IMAX Opens On July 9

SM City Cebu’s IMAX will open next week, July 9, to the public. The most talked movie from the last months, Avatar (in 3D), will be the first to be shown in IMAX. IMAX is coined as the ultimate movie experience because of its large screen, crisp display and improved sound. IMAX in the Philippines was first introduced in the SM Mall of Asia. SM City Cebu’s IMAX is the first outside of Metro Manila and would have a smaller screen, 14 meters, compared to MOA’s 22-meter high screen. SM City Cebu’s IMAX theater is a 400-seater by the way, to cater to the population of Visayas & Mindanao.
