A trip to SM Cebu’s Christmas Village of Hope

When it comes to Christmas decors, SM City Cebu always wins compared to Ayala Center Cebu (the two being the major malls in the metro). After attending the Visayas Blogging Summit, I went to meet my parents in Northwing. They’re buying something in SM Appliance Center so I had to stroll around Northwing’s Atrium first by myself.

I noticed the area being busy, the crowd a bit loud and excited. There was good music and food served to a certain enclosed area. The first thing I noticed are the usual grandiosely decorated Christmas trees towering the center portion.  But only a few were taking their photos with the trees. More people were looking on to something much more attention-seeking than the trees. The Christmas Village of Hope.

Bowling and Billiards at the SM Bowling Center

Last Friday, my friends and I went to go bowling for two main reasons: for the fun of it and as a despidida party for Darmae who’ll be leaving for Manila soon. The last time I went bowling was in college for our PE class. It was my first time then too.

Bowling is not the ordinary sport. You have to pay for the session and the bowling shoes which is quite costly if you are on a tight budget. But it won’t hurt if done once in a while.

We went bowling at the SM Bowling Center of SM City Cebu. The place is filled with Koreans and a couple of Filipinos bowling like pros. For one game, each person has to pay Php90. For peak hours, Php70 only. The bowling shoes cost Php30. When we started playing, there were a few flaws in the equipment — the pins fall by themselves, and once, the pins never came back. But after that, everything was smooth already.

I wasn’t good at bowling. I wasn’t a loser at it either. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I go for the canal. But the most important thing is that we had fun. :D

We decided to go billiards next. It was my second time too, at the same place. The last time I did it was in Grade 6, lol. Billiards is equally fun but I enjoy it more compared to bowling. The first round we practiced and the next rounds we get a bit serious at it. It was really fun.

Me trying at it. I'm not very good at this.

Hoping to play bowling or billiards again soon! :) More photos here.

Pyrofest 2 Fireworks Competition In SM City Cebu

January 16, 2010 – the day before the historic Sinulog festival, SM and Pyroworks International held a fireworks competition in SM City Cebu (outside SM Northwing) called Pyrofest 2. There were 8 contestants from all over the Philippines and the final demo was given by Pyroworks International. I’m addicted to fireworks so I chose that event over the several other concerts all over the city. I did not take some videos. I took pictures the whole time.
