Cebu Bloggers Society:”Yehey!”

Yehey.Com, Philippines’ number one portal and search engine has finally decided to meet up with the uber-active Cebu Bloggers Society last May 28, 2009 at La Maison in The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.

Yehey.Com has been recognizing the power of blogging for a long time already. They already had big events for bloggers in Manila like the over-mentioned TriNoma event for bloggers (it should also happen to us here, you know :D ). Yehey believes that online advertising is one key to a successful business. That is why they recognize bloggers as catalysts for such online advertising system to grow and be noticed even by the larger crowd. What I like about Yehey is how they put things in a mutualistic manner between them, the bloggers and the advertisers. Other “institutions” use bloggers, pay them and tell them what to do. But that is the total opposite of what a real blogger is. Yehey knows that and adheres to ideas that do not break the essence of blogging. After a quick slideshow by Mr. Lim, Yehey’s CEO, small questions were answered. In the end, we signed an invisible contract forging cooperation between us bloggers and the Yehey team. Side A Live At The Terraces Ayala Center Cebu

The Valentine Season is really bringing a lot of musical vibes in Cebu! First off is the Sitti Concert in CICC on Saturday. Back to back with Sitti’s Concert is the Heartthrobs, The Concert in Waterfront Hotel with Piolo, Sam, Eric and Christian. Also in Saturday will be the Philharmonic Orchestra live in the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu. Tomorrow will be Boyce Avenue’s free concert in SM Cebu (which I really don’t know has anything to do with Valentine’s).

This Friday, in the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu, the famous local band Side A will be having a free concert at 9 in the evening. I really don’t know how the Terraces will be set up but that is what is said in the very big poster in the center of the mall.

I didn’t know Side A’s still active in the industry nowadays as they haven’t released lately any album. They are the singers of famous love songs such as Forevermore, Say You’ll Never Go, Will I Ever, All This Time and Got To Believe In Magic.

Can’t remember their songs? Listen to some of their good ones below:

Best of Side A Band

I can’t make it probably on their show because it would be too late in the evening. I have so many academic-related stuff to do. This will really be an opportunity missed out. But I just hope my parents would get interested and if they’ll go, I’d go of course.

See you there if ever!

The TGI Friday’s Experience

After a long day’s torture at school, two of my friends and I stayed in Ayala Center Cebu to have our dinner somewhere in one of the not-so-expensive restaurants in the Terraces. Stupidly, we ended up eating our meal at McDonald’s worth Php 50 each. That’s really hilarious. We spent around 45 minutes searching for a restaurant and ended up in the fastfood spending only such small amount. HAHA. But we have other things in mind. We’re supposed to spend more on the dessert portion. Unluckily, Dessert Factory was closed since they’re moving to the Terraces from the inside of the mall.

One of my companions really wanted to try TGI Friday’s. She’s been drooling over to that cake/brownie she saw one time. So after the funny little dinner, we gave TGI Friday’s a try.

The TGI Friday’s Experience

What I like about TGI Friday’s is the location itself. The ambiance was great — overlooking the fountain area of the Terraces. It was dimly-lit though. Anyways, the waitresses were very attentive, friendly and most of all, sexy (with cat ears!). We were given the menu and shockingly, the prices were so HIGH. Sky high! We were laughing as we don’t have the capacity to individually buy ourselves a serving of dessert. We ended up ordering one serving for the three of us. What we ordered is called Double Chocolate Fudgy Brownie. It’s the hot brownie with a coffee-flavored ice cream on top. That one serving wasn’t all consumed. It was yummy but we just can’t take the over-sweetness. I myself am weak to super sweet foods.

We left TGI Friday’s with utter satisfaction. We charged it to experience. Now’s not the right time for us to dine in such expensive restos. When I get a job, I’ll order their main dishes for sure.

Before we left, there’s something new that I experienced too… the receipt being left a sweet note from somebody in TGI Friday’s. Here goes:

Ain’t that inspiring? Whoever Bianca is, she’s sweet. And don’t mind the ‘welcome’ with a smiley. Don’t mind my friend’s handwriting. I know it’s ugly. Haha, kidding!

Anyways, I look forward to my next TGI Friday’s meal! Yum yum!
